Dr. Sykes is a past board member of the General Practice Psychotherapy Association, and continues to teach in the GPPA's professional development program. She has practiced meditation and hatha yoga daily for over 20 years, and now studies qigong with Prof. P.Y. Shen in Toronto.
Our Facilitators are : Liz Creighton, MSW, RSW has worked in the health care system for over 30 years, as a counselor and teacher. She has taught in the Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Social Work at the University of Toronto, and has extensive counseling experience with individuals, couples and families. For the past five years, she has facilitated stress management groups in a teaching hospital in Toronto. Liz has facilitated Meditation for Health groups since 2003. Linda Klevnick, M. Ed. has practiced meditation since 1978, including 6 years as a lay teacher and 5 years as an ordained Buddhist priest. Before that, she had training in fine arts and worked as a free-lance artist. In 1994, Ms. Klevnick left the Buddhist order to undertake studies in western psychology. She is currently a doctoral student in counselling psychology. Linda has facilitated Meditation for Health groups since 2000. Ron McFarlan, R.N, BAAN has been practicing as a registered nurse for 18 years with experience in critical care, psychiatry and nursing informatics at the University Health Network in Toronto. His interests include holistic nursing, clinical ethics and the relationship between stress and disease. Ron is also involved as a volunteer programmer at CKLN community radio for 12 years, and has facilitated Meditation for Health groups since 2002. Natalie Sammut, RSW entered the psychotherapy field in 1976 as a playtherapist and crisis intervention counselor. She has continued to work in family therapy at the Hincks Dellcrest Centre for the past 12 years. Natalie has completed the 5 year diploma program at The Centre for Training in Psychotherapy, and has had a private psychotherapy practice for adults and children since 1991. She has facilitated Meditation for Health groups since 1998. Our program coordinator is: Diana Wilson has 22 years managerial experience in the medical and holistic health care field. Along with her management skills, Diana is also interested in relaxation therapy, and has practiced relaxation massage for 6 years. She has been the program coordinator at Meditation for Health since 1999.
